My buddy Ricky makes really cool stuff out of wood with his hands. I am pretty much incapable of making anything with my hands. But I can take ok photos, so Ricky and I hung out this Saturday morning to snap a few photos of some recent pieces he’s been working on.

This was my first time shooting furniture, and one of the first times I’ve really put my new Sigma 35mm Art lens through it’s paces. Neither was disappointing. The design and craftsmanship of the furniture were gorgeous, and this lens is tact sharp while maintaining a shallow depth of field.

Down the road I think it would be fun to set up a white seamless for these pieces to really emphasis their clean lines, angles, and shape. Some of my favorite photos below, and be sure to check out more of Ricky’s work over here.
